GVA Today
The Gin and Vodka Association today is a non-profit, non-trading association which exists:
- To protect and promote the interests of the UK gin and vodka producers at home and overseas
- To prevent any malpractices or abuses that may arise in connection with the production, importation or sale of gin and vodka
Membership is open to any individual, firm, limited company or corporation which is a producer, brand owner or importer of gin or vodka. There are currently 35 members who, between them, represent an estimated 98% of the gin and vodka trades in the UK.
The GVA, together with the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA), looks after the interests of the UK spirit industry in its dealings with the Government, the European Union (EU) and other official bodies. It is part of the wider spirits scene through its membership of the Confédération Européenne des Producteurs de Spiritueux (CEPS), which represents the interests of European spirits producers. CEPS has formal links with other spirit producers associations worldwide.
