Aldi Wins Gin & Vodka Association Trophy
ALDI WINS GIN AND VODKA ASSOCIATION TROPHY
The UK's most prestigious, independent drinks competition, the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), has awarded this year's Gin & Vodka Association Trophy to a new Aldi own label gin.
Oliver Cromwell 1599 Premium Gin, a new product made exclusively in UK for Aldi, beat stiff competition from leading distillers to win the top accolade.
Edwin Atkinson, the GVA Director General, said "We are delighted to support the IWSC with this award. It reflects the fine heritage and traditions of the Gin category. The winning gin is representative of the number of very high quality products available to consumers and the number of excellent new brands entering the market."
The Gin and Vodka Association (GVA) represents producers who export to over 150 countries worldwide. The Association seeks to promote and protect these two important spirits categories which account for by far the largest part of the UK spirit market.
This is the first year that the Association has sponsored this award.
